Spread the Love: You Are Beautiful Stickers

picture of bundles of You Are Beautiful stickersBrains on Beauty: You know that Girl-Woman-Beauty-Brains-Blog was created to remind women to love the skin they are in. We found a way to promote the message of confidence and beauty with You Are Beautiful Stickers. The stickers are free.

Once you receive your stickers, have fun promoting confidence and beauty by sticking them everywhere. Maybe a friend needs a confidence boost: Secretly stick it on her desk at work. Maybe you need a reminder to love yourself: Stick it on your bathroom mirror. Have fun spreading the love.

What is You are Beautiful?

You Are Beautiful is a simple, powerful statement which is incorporated into the over absorption of mass media and lifestyles that are wrapped in consumer culture. The intention behind this project is to reach beyond ourselves as individuals to make a difference by creating moments of positive self realization. We're just attempting to make the world a little better. Intention is the most important aspect of the You Are Beautiful project in its idea of purity. Nothing is sacred. Everything that has a perceived value becomes commodified. We work extremely hard that this message is received as a simple act of kindness, and nothing more. Advertising elicits a response to buy, where this project elicits a response to do something. The attempt with You Are Beautiful is to create activism instead of consumerism. You Are Beautiful uses the medium of advertising and commercialization to spread a positive message. Projects like these make a difference in the world by catching us in the midst of daily life and creating moments of positive self realization.

Thursday's Beauty Tips: 10 Lipstick Tricks

picture of red lipstick marks on a white background

  1. If your lipstick breaks like mine always does, light a match under the broken part. When the lipstick melts, stick it on the base. Rotate the lipstick back into the tube and store it in the refrigerator until cool.
  2. Speaking of refrigerators, storing any of your lippies in the fridge will make them last longer.
  3. To keep lipstick off your teeth, once your have applied lipstick, put a little Vaseline on your teeth.

  4. Lipstick can be used as blush, but do not use blush as lipstick, unless you are using Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks ($22).

    5. If you use lip liner, apply lip liner first so that you can follow the natural line of your lips. Lancome Le Crayon Lip Contour ($22) keeps your crayon color inside the lines.

    6. If you do not like a shade of lipstick, do not throw it out. Just mix it with other shades of lipstick and create your own shade. These small containers are perfect for holding your own natural lip gloss or lip balm creations.

    7. Click here for a DIY lip gel recipe, or combine lipstick and Vaseline in a container (6 for $1.10).

    8. Orange lipstick shades make your teeth appear yellow.

    9. To create a cool blue based tone, apply a navy blue eyeshadow on lips and apply your lipstick on top . Voila! Whiter looking teeth, too. I use Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in navy.

1o. At parties, I always knew which glass was mine. The telltale sign was the lipstick was on the glass and not my lips. To prevent your lippie from transferring to the glass, lick the edge of the glass before you take a sippie.

    Smooches,
