20 Best Heat-Styling Creams, Mousses and Sprays
According to many pundits and Santa Claus, this holiday season will see a preponderance of utilitarian and practical gifts. We have heard that many stockings will be stuffed with blow-dryers and flatirons.
As a note of caution, hair gurus and Mrs. Claus recommend applying one of these products before using a blow-dryer or flatiron. If you are stuffing a stocking with a practical gift, why don't you add a gel, spray or cream that prevents damage.
Try these gels, sprays and creams that beauty bloggers and Total Beauty readers say keep their hair healthy despite blow-dryer and flatiron addictions. (One of our faves and best on the list is Aveda, but it's not No. 1.)

Beauty product review of SET Hair Play Custom Blend: (Reviewed by Jamie Temple)
“A weightless detangling moisturizing foam-lotion, great for twisting, blow-drying and natural styles, gives hair controlled silky-body. De-frizz shine without flake. All texture.”
WOW. What doesn’t this product do? [break] Read more.[/break]
After, a day or two without washing my locks, it started to become tangled and knotted. Some parts were wavy, others curly, while the top of my hair was flat as a board. Not the most attractive look for me.
So, instead of wasting precious prep time washing my hair, blow-drying, and straightening, I reached for SET
. Three pumps in my palm and distribute evenly. Next I put my hair in a long braid and put the blow dryer on it for about 2-3 minutes…voila. I had hair that my gal pal, Nikki calls “beachy" -- not to be confused with the other similar sounding adjective that is used to describe me on occasion ;)
The next day, I used it on my damp, towel-dried hair before my blow-dry and straightening ritual. After which I applied Hair Play Custom Blend’s SEAL to add shine and moisture. Can I say FABULOSITY, baby? Oh, I can? Thank you.
Too bad it’s Sunday and I have no place to go...
