Summer 2008 Celeb Hairstyle Trend: Pixie-Crop

Posted on Jun 21, 2008 at 11:00AM

ipcture of Freja Beha Erichsen with short pixie crop haircutAccording to WWD, "Get ready to hit the scissors. This season's hottest models had one thing in common: short hair. From Agyness Deyn, who has parlayed her one-day-platinum-the-next-day brunette buzz cut to superstardom, to Freja Beha Erichsen (shown above), who reportedly lopped off her locks herself, a cropped top was all the rage for spring."

From Pob to Bob to the shortest of the short Pixie-Crop, short hair is this summer's best accessory.

Another celeb who sported a cropped mane was Natalie Portman. The crop look fabulous with her heart-shaped face.

picture of Michelle Williams with short pixie crop blonde hairAnother celebrity who made the scary move of chopping off her locks was Michelle Williams. If you looked up "pixie" in the dictionary, I bet you would find Michelle's picture. She exudes innocence with this style.

Elisha Cuthbert is the latest celebrity to confidently wear the pixie-crop.

This haircut needs a woman comfortable in her own skin, with a big twist of attitude. This look can shout independence and boldness, or young and funky, or sharp and elegant depending on the person's personality, how it is worn, and what is worn with it. If you've got it -- that attitude that is -- flaunt it.

What do you think of the trendy pixie-crop?

I've had the pixie crop for a year and a half now, and I love it! It's so low maintenance but very cute, and it's especially great for the summer and not having to worry about the back of my neck overheating.
