Working Girl Regimen

Jamie, the working girl, shares with us how she takes care of her aches and pains after being on her feet all day in the Working Girl Regimen.

Throughout my work day at White House Black Market I am occasionally plagued with blisters, cuts, and dry, callused feet.  Christian Louboutin will do a number on your tootsies, but I've learned how to combat the soreness and calluses with my fabulous after-work regimen

At the end of each shift I make sure to flip flop into my eco-chic Floc Designs foldable thongs ($20)-- (thongs, as in shoes). PocketFlops fold in half and fit in a small bag that barely claims space in my purse. They are made with 95% recycled tire rubber, and the carrying bag is made of organic and/or recycled material.  Relieve your feet and the environment all in one.

As soon as I get home, I fill up the tub with Epsom salt and run a hot bath to soak my feet and body.  For a few dollars, Epsom Salts, or Magnesium sulfate, when used through soaking, can soothe muscle pains and give a feeling of well-being. Magnesium and sulfate are absorbed through the skin. The Epsom salt soak reduces pain and inflammation, too.

A persistent problem like this requires more than a ho-hum moisturizer. Epoch Sole Solution Foot Treatment treats the underlying cause with ingredients like allspice berry (Pimenta dioica)—traditionally used by the indigenous people of Central America to relieve persistent dry, cracked, red skin on heels, toes, and sides of feet.

With the pampering regimen behind me, it's time to get my beauty sleep so that I'm ready for another day as a working girl.

This sounds like one really pampering routine!

I am plagued with rough feet even though I exfoliate and moisturize. I think I am going to buy a foot tub and some epsom salts.....

Great article.

Hi Jamie,

Awesome article. You are really talented, and I'm proud of you.
