Tantalizing Tuesday Free Giveaway: Buzzillions

Posted on Dec 2, 2008 at 3:56AM

Good morning, ladies.  It's Tantalizing Tuesday and we have a unique giveaway to offer to our readers this week. Two of you will win $25 cash by stopping by Buzzillions.

What is Buzzillions?

Buzzillions.com is a customer reviews site that collects reviews from actual product purchasers like you and me. They don’t actually sell anything themselves, so their content (nearly 4 million reviews on about 600,000 products and growing) is totally unbiased – that is, they publish all reviews -- the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Each day they collect thousands of reviews from their retail partners (including names like Drugstore.com, Macy’s, Toys R Us, Karen Neuburger, Jockey and more than 500 other merchants both large and small) who they work with to survey people after they have made a purchase and allow them to rate and review the products they purchased.

They then publish all of those reviews on Buzzillions.com.

Now that you know what they do and how they do it, meander on over to Buzzillions and spend some time exploring the site.  Then report back in the comment section on GWBBB what you like or don't like about the site.

Two readers will receive $25 each for their constructive comments. The free giveaway ends at midnight on Tuesday, December 7, 2008.  Winners will be chosen at random from among the entrants. The lucky winners will be announced on December 8, 2008. (U.S. residents only.)

Enjoy!

Giveaway closed.  Winners are Lakegirl25 and Jeramiahbullfrog.  Congrats!

Enter now to win a Karmin flat iron!

I love being able to get information from real life users but I don't like how there's multiple listings for the same item. For instance the WoW Wee Tri-Bot. I had a hard time finding it under wowwee and tribot so you have to be very careful in how you type in your search term to get the results you really want.

I like that the reviews are candid and honest. No hidden agendas.

I like that you can sort your searches by various criteria (price, hi/lo rankings, etc). I agree though that the search function is touchy -- I plugged the word "makeup" into it, and got six non-makeup items, most of which were laboratory equipment!

I like that their site is well-organized, so it wouldn't take long to figure out where to go to add a review for a particular product. What I didn't like about the site is the lack of color and the logo, which is plain. The front page is a bit too cluttered as well.

Interesting. I like how you can sort reviews from highest rate, lowest rates, most rated. All the catagories are great and the reviews are much more helpful than those on Amazon. The only thing extra I would like is a review of the stores selling the merchandise, as we all know some are MUCH better than others at delivering customer service (or even just delivery the product). I have a few stores I would rate highly and a few I will never shop at again, would love to review them.

Usually I would find a site like this intimidated for the very reason I shun the malls: Sensory Overload (also known as *look at all the shiny-shiny syndrome*).
On Buzzillions I was so pleased to find that once I selected a category it was then divided into sub-categories and these made navigating very easy and specific. I started perusing the perfumes and they were broken down in a variety of helpful ways.
My con, (and please keep in mind I did not go through the entire site, as I am looking for a new perfume I concentrated my efforts here) is that I would enjoy having one of the sub-categories be what the topnote of the perfumes were, some people really like Jasmine so they would begin the search there.
Overall I found this to be a useful site to compare and contrast and get man-on-the-street opinions.

I like the site and how easy it is to scan the reviews for the information you need (I learned more about Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers in 20 minutes at this site than I have in an hour at other sites). I also like how the reviews are divided by self-diagnosed experience level (avid and casual cooks).

I think the category options are pretty good but I'd like to see videogames out of the electronics category. It makes sense but yet it doesn't. I like seeing the ratings right by the name of the item and the fact that the products appear in ranked order is most helpful. I also appreciate seeing the price ranges to be expected for that product there.

What I really liked about the website and found encouraging was that they listed the top ten gps systems and the number one was the garmin nuvi 350. I just purchased this as a gift for my stepdaughter from amazon. After reading the comments and reviews it reinforced that i made a good choice. After seeing all the local store sales on gps systems i was feeling like maybe i had paid too much and bought the wrong one. This site reassured me that i did good.
