Book Review of Get Positively Beautiful: The Ultimate Guide To Looking and Feeling Gorgeous by Carmindy
Written by Beckie
We all know and love Carmindy, makeup artist for TLC's No. 1 Show What Not To Wear. Carmindy's new book arrived on my doorstep last week, and my first thought was, "Even though I love Carmindy, how can this book be any different than all the other how-to beauty books on the market?"
Well, girls, this beauty book is different.
What appealed to me as much as Carmindy's easy to follow step-by-step instructions and customized advice on how to play up your best facial assets instead of hiding your liabilities was Carmindy's philosophy that matches GWBBB's philosophy: Looking good starts with feeling good.

How we think affects how we look. Period. Though we can't always control how the world comes at us, we can decide to feel good about ourselves and to meet challenges head-on, with our best face forward.
Yes, Get Positively Beautiful is different than your average beauty book.
Along with the much-needed shopping list of beauty products to buy at a drugstore or a department store, Carmindy shows you how to find your best feature and then offers many mirror mantras to help you retrain your brain. Yes, this is brains on beauty.
My skin is creamy and dreamy.
What amazing cheekbones I have.
My eyes look so sparkling and cheerful.
Collecting top beauty products from every beauty and health magazine crowding the store shelves for an article "Can You Trust Beauty and Health Magazines' Beauty Product Top Picks?" -- (advertising dollars affects most magazine's top picks) --it was refreshing to review a makeup artist's top picks.
Carmindy's shopping guide contains the best of the best:
Over the years I have tried every product and every brand out there and I know what works. Here is your chance to peek inside my makeup bag. No matter what your budget is, you will find everything you need to get positively beautiful.
Of course, Carmindy chooses her own line -- Sally Hansen Inspired by Carmindy -- but out of 65 drugstore beauty products on her shopping list -- which included everything from foundation to makeup tools to skincare products -- only 15 were Sally Hansen Inspired by Carmindy.
At this juncture, I have not had the opportunity to test and review Sally Hansen Inspired by Carmindy products, but GWBBB will test and review in the near future. With the budget-friendly pricing, it might be the perfect bailout beauty product package that we women need.
If you are a woman who wants a book that is not only a fabulous guide to makeup application but also a self-help book to transform your self-image, you should be on your way to the bookstore to purchase Get Positively Beautiful.

Thanks for the quick review. I love Carmindy on TV and am excited to check out this book after hearing that it offers a bit of fresh air from the normal beauty book.
